“Impress Hawkins wins Peel Plate Heat for Cosi Dagostino”

Capable sprinter Impress Hawkins overcame box seven to win Heat Two of the Peel Plate Series tonight over 400m. The daughter of Feral Franky was backed into an odds-on favourite and she didn’t let her backers down. After working hard to get to the front she held off a spirited challenge from Not Atrocious to score by half a length. The winning time of 22.51 was solid and the victory also snapped a losing sequence of nine starts. The Peel Plate has had some excellent winners over the years like Need A Seatbelt (2012), Cork Popper (2015), Stanga Moose (2020) and Canya Ice Man (2025). Next Tuesday night’s final promises to be a ripper of a race over the 400m distance.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 3 Number 6 INCREDIBLE LUCKY : Stormed home for second over 300m.

Race 5 Number 3 FLEXIBLE POWER : Rocketed home for fifth and is one to follow under the same race conditions.
