“Pete Brown trains an early double at Mandurah”

Southern River based trainer Pete Brown prepared the winners of races two and three tonight. Both chasers are owned by the Robert Ingram managed Orana Racing Syndicate and both were successful over 300m against Country Novice opposition. Orana Rex saluted first, recovering from a poor jump to zoom to the front at half way before charging away to win by four lengths. He clocked 17.37 which was a great effort given his lack of early urgency. Twenty minutes later Orana Valerie cashed in on box one, holding out the early challengers and leading throughout. She clocked a more modest 17.50 and scored by one length over the blinker wearing Zatara Ace. Pete Brown has enjoyed a lot of success in the past with the likes of Sunset Bubbles, Pad Up Declan, Blue Glitter, Big Girl Kiki and Son Of Frankie.
