“Quest For Steps clocks a slick 17.10 over 300m”

Former Victorian Quest For Steps was heavily backed to win tonight’s Auto Owls Bentley Country Novice over 300m and she didn’t let her backers down. From box two she launched herself straight to the top before scoring by two lengths in a promising 17.10 for leading trainer Gary Nelson. The daughter of Tommy Shelby started once in Victoria for a third over 400m at Geelong before coming to WA. She overcame bumps to win her Maiden a fortnight ago in 17.48 and this evening showed what she is capable of timewise when she was unimpeded. Cathy’s Girl was the runner up for Ben MacLean and three lengths away third was the Morgan Turner trained Tiny Violin.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 3 Number 1 CATHY’S GIRL : Lowered her PB and will be very hard to stop in a similar race next start.

Race 4 Number 5 DON’T TELL DASHA : Battled on well for second behind Yunderup Sun and is sure to enjoy and thrive racing in Masters company.
