“Jamie Marsh Quinellas the Great Western Final”

Tonight’s Great Western Final was won tenaciously by the Jamie Marsh prepared Elite Deluxe. The young speedster began brilliantly and crossed favourite Italian Stallion (box one) at the first turn which proved to be crucial. Italian Stallion checked off heels and lost a couple of lengths and momentum at that point of the contest. Aussie Gem, also trained by Marsh settled on the outside of Elite Deluxe and challenged strongly in the home straight but fell short by a neck. Elite Deluxe notched her ninth victory from just 14 career starts, all of which have been over 400m at Mandurah. Her mother Elite Weapon was a very handy sprinter who won ten races and recorded a 21.67 PB over 380m at Cannington and a 29.80 PB over 520m.
