“Gold Smirch delivers second up for Tony Scott”

Impressive youngster Gold Smirch made light work of tonight’s Auto Owls Bentley Maiden Heat over 400m. The daughter of Bendigo Cup winning sire Vanderworp broke cleanly from box four and quickly mustered to an outright lead ahead of race favourite Freckles Monelli. She dashed away on straightening and scored by three lengths in 22.57. Freckles Monelli was the runner up and twelve lengths away in third position was Naturally Born. Gold Smirch is raced by Leon Birch and is trained by Nambeelup based trainer Tony Scott. Her mother Truly Amazing was a handy chaser who won 10 of 39 career starts including a mighty PB of 16.93 over the old 302m distance.
