“Honey Badger delivers at first start over 300m”

30kg brindle son of Flying Ricciardo Honey Badger started his career in NSW where he only managed 4 minor placings from 15 starts. He resumed in WA for Martin based trainer Greg King on September 23 with a fifth over 400m when he was beaten 12 lengths by the promising Zulu Yallah. Tonight he dropped to 300m and Country Class and was well supported into an even money favourite despite drawing box six. After a moderate jump he rounded up the leaders and shot clear before winning by four lengths running away. Yunderup Tammy boxed on well for second and two lengths away in third position was Whose Alice. Honey Badger’s winning time of 17.39 was terrific and he looked very strong on the line.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 4 Number 8 NEGRONI : Was desperate to get down to the fence and once she did she railed home for second, looks ready to win from an inside alley.

Race 6 Number 7 IDYLLIC PAIGE : Broke through for an overdue victory and looked strong late.
