“Aston Crema impresses at Mandurah debut”
Ex-Victorian Aston Crema put on a dazzling display in tonight’s Bring The Family Provincial Novice over 400m. The daughter of Aston Dee Bee started her career in Victoria where she won just 1 of 9 and that victory was over 390m at Shepparton. On September 13 she saluted over 381m at Cannington in a fair 22.09 but struck trouble there last start when bumped out of contention. Tonight at her Mandurah debut she mustered brilliantly to the first turn to lead with a first split of 6.30. Fellow former Victorian Lochinvar Lord settled in second position but couldn’t stick with Aston Crema who went on to win by six lengths. Her winning time of 22.53 was excellent and she won’t take long to march up the grades for Banjup trainer Cosi Dagostino.
