“Redhot Money wins The Dash for Tony Scott”

The Dash series is the only 300m feature staged at the Mandurah track all year and a seriously top field was assembled for tonight’s final. The race was first run on the old track back in 1981 when Annabelle Lane scored over 288m. Notable big name winners since include New Temlock (1985 and 1986), Duke Of Belmont (1996), Agent Adam (2003 and 2004), Max Profit (2018) and Roll Out (2020). The three fastest qualifiers (and favourites) Night Lighter (box 6), Sunset Nightjar (box 7) and Sunset Ali (box 8) all drew wide which opened the race up a bit for the others. Redhot Money drew box one and had been very impressive since arriving from Victoria, starting 5 times over 300m for 3 wins and 2 seconds. She began beautifully and was able to lead early but had to be tough in the middle stages to hold out a powerful challenge from Night Lighter. Turning for home Redhot Money accelerated quickly and dashed clear, winning in a new PB of 16.87 and by two lengths. Sunset Ali and Dancing Dennis both finished strongly and dead-heated for second with Night Lighter finishing fourth. Trainer Tony Scott has done a remarkable job with Redhot Money who arrived in WA having won only 1 of 11 in Victoria.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 3 Number 4 GO GETTEM WHOOPI : Mustered to the front before winning easily by 4 lengths.

Race 6 Number 6 PRINCESS MILA : Ran on boldly to finish a close up third and looked to have plenty of energy left on the line.
