“Glowing Ember storms home to win maiden for Enzo”

Glowing Ember was solidly backed into second favourite ($3.80 fixed) for tonight’s opening event, the Free Entry TABtouch Park maiden over 300m. The daughter of Benali had failed to be placed at her previous 13 career starts, 9 of those occurring at Cannington and 4 at Mandurah. However tonight she dropped to a Country Class 300m race and after a slow start hooked to the outside at the top of the straight and launched a paralysing burst to clinch an unlikely victory. The margin was a neck over Champagne Cathy and another neck away third was initial leader Believe In Dream. Glowing Ember is a full sister to Burnt Passion who has recorded a sizzling 29.70 over 520m at Cannington.
