“Iconic Jet wins the first heat of Nambeelup Cup in mighty style”
Freak sprinter Iconic Jet could not have been more impressive in tonight’s first heat of the Nambeelup Cup over 488m. Fresh off a 509m blitz at Northam where he clocked a freakish time of 28.93, the son of Bernardo zoomed straight to the front before defeating a handy lineup in 27.05. West On Cole, a talented sprinter in his own right battled on well for second but couldn’t make any inroads and was beaten 8.50 lengths. Iconic Jet has now won 18 of 31 and after drawing box one in next Friday’s Final looks set to take home the trophy for owner Carli Taylor. The other two heat winners were Next Thing Uno (27.44) and Ditalini Monelli (27.74). The box draw for this year’s Nambeelup Cup :
