“Mum’s A Hoot leads throughout for Jen Thompson”

Fast beginner Mum’s A Hoot used her early speed to set up victory in tonight’s Thursdays At Mandurah Country Novice over 300m. The daughter of Oaks Road was sent out at the giant odds of $91.00 fixed odds with TABtouch having finished eighth at her last couple. She was beaten by big margins on those occasions but she pinged out tonight and settled three lengths in front after fifty metres. Race favourite Downrigger missed the kick from box one but worked home strongly to challenge but fell short by the smallest possible margin. Mum’s A Hoot held on for a nose victory in 17.56 for owner Leeanne Nelson and trainer Jen Thompson. Her litter brother Handsome Hoot finished two lengths away in third position.
