“Sunset Sapphire grows a leg from box one”

Daughter of Zack Monelli Sunset Sapphire improved sharply at box rise tonight, pinging out of box one and finding an outright lead. She had been one of the last to exit at her last six starts and finished down the track. However tonight she did everything right and made every post a winner, recording a new PB of 27.66 over 488m. The Ben Abercrombie prepared Go Gettem Whoopi chased her home and was beaten three lengths and half a length away third was Osprey Chronos for Brodie Kirby. Sunset Sapphire had only managed one podium finish from her first eleven starts and that was her maiden victory. Her mother Ruby Monelli was a terrific race bitch who won 9 of 41 career starts and was responsible for a 29.77 run at Cannington and a 27.22 time at Mandurah.
