“Boracay Summer wins Mandurah Distance Challenge”

Middle distance A-grader Boracay Summer took out tonight’s feature event over 652m, leading throughout from box six. Race favourite Iron Works began only fairly and was shuffled back past the catching pen, seemingly losing all chance and opening up the race for others. The Steve Withers trained Boracay Summer took full advantage by beginning beautifully and gliding to the front. Miss Ronnie Mac and All About Coal gave pursuit but Boracay Summer held on for a 0.75 length triumph in 37.12. Miss Ronnie Mac soldiered on for second and took her career earnings over $158,000 for Corey White. Vinales flew home for third and looks ready for 715m racing while All About Coal finished close up in fourth. Boracay Summer has now won more than $172,000 and in WA has started 18 times for 11 brilliant wins for owner Jobell Ahern.
