“Afloat wins maiden final for Krystal Shinners”

There is yet another promising young chaser in the care of Krystal Shinners and her name is Afloat. The 29kg red fawn daughter of Aston Rupee is out of Elevated who has produced some serious chasers in the past. Elevated won 12 of her 30 career starts and earned over $150,000 before heading to the breeding barn where she mothered four litters. The notable progeny include Amplified (31 wins), Deadly Class (19 wins), Revolution (18 wins) and Deadly Rookie (17 wins). Afloat won her maiden heat last Tuesday in 22.59 and started a warm favourite tonight but there were some anxious moments after box rise when she was posted wide and third at the first turn. However as the field straightened Afloat zoomed past her opponents to win by 2 lengths in 22.81. Butler’s Cabin finished second for the fourth consecutive start and a length away third was 100/1 chance Beastly.
