“Fire Lighter lights up Mandurah again”

Former Sydneysider Fire Lighter fresh off a brilliant win last Saturday repeated the dose tonight from box two. The son of Hooked On Scotch scorched over 488m in 26.94 last week and after a slightly slower exit scored in 27.17 this evening. He mustered quickly in the middle stages to break away from Molfetta Cruise and although he was challenged at the top of the home straight he pulled away late to win by just over a length. Molfetta Cruise held second ahead of the strong finishing Inside Scoop. Fire Lighter is owned by Martin Gleeson, trained by Paul Stuart and has now won 9 of 18 career starts.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 2 Number 2 KNIGHT FRIGHT : Looked strong late and prefer over a longer trip.

Race 4 Number 1 MOLOTOV BOY : Fired out of box one and led throughout to beat a handy field over 652m.
