“Lonely Bull wins maiden final at long odds”

Outsider Lonely Bull made full use of box eight in tonight’s Sign Strategy Maiden Final over 400m. The son of Superior Panama was unplaced at his first two starts before running second last Tuesday in a pedestrian time of 23.14. He came up against a talented field of youngsters tonight and from box 8 was sent out at $39.40 on tote. He began fairly and maintained a wide path and when the favourites all found interference he swept to the front. The Lewis Clay trained chaser saluted by half a length in 23.01 over Mandy Onyx and Cracker Dust. Lonely Bull is out of excellent race bitch Torza who won 16 races and clocked a mighty PB of 22.63 over the old 405m distance.
