“Pad Up Declan beats a top field for Pete Brown”

Top sprinter Pad Up Declan chalked up his thirteenth victory tonight from box two in the Tommy Shelby At Stud Provincial 4 over 400m. The son of Zambora Brockie matched motors with favourite Fancy That Fred in the run to the first turn before crossing to the front at the 300m mark. What A Ripper, Minh Smiley and Apache Havoc gave pursuit but Pad Up Declan held them all off and won by two lengths in 22.36. The Pete Brown trained chaser had been in terrific form at Northam before running a solid third at Mandurah last Friday. This evening’s victory took his career earnings to over $36,000 and given his form there will be many more wins to come.
