Handy young sprinter Power Forward overcame box seven and a quality Provincial Novice field to win tonight’s Sign Strategy P Nov over 400m. The son of Sunset Spitfire began with haste and found the front before charging away in the front straight and winning by 6.25 lengths. The Jamie Marsh prepared Infrared Gem railed into second and half a length away third was the Max Julien trained Defibrillator. Power Foward has only won 3 of 20 career starts but tonight’s impressive time of 22.47 indicates there will be many more wins in store. He is out of Happy Rage who won 14 of 105 starts over short distances.
