“Crumble Monelli shoots the lights out in Peter Thomas Final”

Rejuvenated star sprinter Crumble Monelli took no prisoners in tonight’s Peter Thomas Final (488m) for David Hobby. The 400m track record holder flew out of box five and quickly assumed control before leading throughout in a brisk 27.07. The son of Barcia Bale held on by one length to beat favourite Bunji Man and two lengths away third was Wise Barra. From February to July Crumble Monelli went winless from eight starts but August has been amazing for the David Hobby prepared speedster. This evening was his fourth consecutive victory and the $20,000 first prize took his stake earnings over $700,000. Later in the night Saige Tenniele broke her own track record over 652m by four lengths, clocking an epic time of 36.53.

Race 3 Number 3 GENO BRAVINSKI : Gave plenty of cheek and looks close to a win.

Race 4 Number 3 SHY EMOJI : Finished fifth and was making ground on some top class chasers.
