“Sunset Pepe takes out the Express Stake Final”

Fastest qualifier and race favourite Sunset Pepe prevailed in tonight’s Express Stake Final for Nambeelup trainer David Hobby. He looked very hard to beat on paper and after a fast getaway and settling second at the first turn he was always in control. Brilliant musterer Apache Havoc worked to the lead but was overtaken at the top of the straight by Sunset Pepe who charged away over the concluding stages. He has now won 10 of 36 career starts and his amazing time of 22.19 was a new PB. The winning margin was 3.25 lengths over Apache Havoc and another two lengths away third was Artisan Artist.
