“Fire Fly Carole wins for Tony Williams”

Grade-dropper Fire Fly Carole overcame the pink box to take out tonight’s Peter Thompson Country 6 over 300m. The daughter of Aston Dee Bee pushed through to find the front at the top of the straight before holding off a late burst from outsider Squeeze Li. Fire Fly Carole notched her fifteenth career victory and clocked a solid 17.33. Her winning margin was a neck over Squeeze Li and another neck away third was initial leader Brooklyn Ripple. Fire Fly Carole is trained out of Southern River by Tony Williams who has enjoyed plenty of success in the past with the likes of Ancient Jewel, Bomber Command, Mosquito Squad, Commander Mack and Ice Lady.
