“Zipping Wilbur breaks through at Mandurah for James Jeffries”

Honest sprinter Zipping Wilbur snapped a losing sequence of 23 tonight when he led all the way over 400m. The son of Zipping Garth had been placed at his last three efforts at Mandurah over 488m, 400m and 300m. Tonight he switched back to 400m and after a fast getaway was able to control the event from start to finish. Kennel-mate Bluey Brann finished strongly for second and close up in third was Bracton for Shane Beard. Zipping Wilbur recorded 22.70 and the victory was his first at the Mandurah circuit at his 28th appearance.

Race 1 Number 8 INCREDIBLE NIK : Powered away late and looks ready for a rise in distance.

Race 3 Number 6 ALL ABOUT SLATE : Looked very unlucky after a good jump not to be in the finish.
