20240308 – Mandurah Friday

“Pretty Hot wins again for Adam Smithson”

Former Victorian Pretty Hot has relished racing since switching to racing at Mandurah over the 488m distance. The daughter of Orson Allen was unplaced at her first three WA starts at Cannington over 520m and 600m before Nambeelup trainer Adam Smithson nominated for Mandurah. She resumed with a tough second from box eight behind Erasmus Duke on February 23. Last Friday she went one better when victorious in 27.57 and this evening she repeated the dose with another win in 27.62. She unleashed a mighty surge in the middle stages to take the lead before holding off Butter Me Up (Rod Noden) and Marathon (Kevin Phillips) over the concluding stages. Her mother Tink was a consistent money-spinner in NSW accumulating 12 wins, 12 seconds and 10 thirds from her 55 career outings.
