“Minh Smiley bounces back into winning form for Ben MacLean”

Mandurah track specialist Minh Smiley overcame a moderate getaway to win tonight’s Michael Carrigan Provincial 5 over 400m. The daughter of Fernando Bale was fourth at the first turn but was able to find the fence and was beginning to build momentum quickly. Just before straightening she accelerated through on the rail to overtake leaders Cool Myra and Our Boy Doug before clearing out in the front straight. She scored by 2.25 lengths over Cool Myra and another 1.75 lengths away third was Bang. Minh Smiley is raced by Catherine Collins and Ben MacLean and has now won 4 of 8 at the Mandurah circuit.
