“Greek Odyssey overcomes box seven to win Maiden for Michael Rees”

Byford based trainer Michael Rees pulled off a rough result in tonight’s Choichechem Provincial Maiden over 400m. The daughter of Aussie Infrared had been unplaced at her first three starts and was sent out at the juicy odds of $31 tonight. Five chasers all began quickly and a line of five formed as the field left the back straight. Greek Odyssey cut down to the rail and was able to cross his rivals before going on to score by three lengths. The wide tracking Expedential ran second for Jackie Wilson and a neck away third was Magic Entry for Tim Gummow. Greek Odyssey clocked 23.15 and looked suited from the wide draw at the roomy, newly renovated Mandurah track.

Trial 1 Number 1 WEST ON LIBBY : Rocketed out and clocked 6.28 early before winning in a flying 22.71.

Race 4 Number 1 COMMON SPEED : Flew out to lead and win in 27.53 and looks set for a bright future.
