“Cool Myra overcomes box seven to win at 25/1 for McLaren”

Cool Myra faced a tough task in tonight’s A1 Salvage and Hardware Provincial 5 over 380m for Andrew McLaren. The lineup had serious depth and she drew wide in box seven. The daughter of Fernando Bale zoomed to the front on entering the back straight before scooting three lengths in front. Fellow outsiders Carrie Heffernan and Sudden Rain gave pursuit but couldn’t reel in Cool Myra who won by half a length. Sudden Rain finished second with Carrie Heffernan close up in third position. The unlikely Trifecta combination of 7-4-3 returned a juicy dividend of $1072.70 whilst the First Four returned a mammoth $8253.60.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 1 Number 2 OUR BENSON : Powered home to win in 21.90 after being crossed early and looks set for a bright future.

Race 2 Number 2 SUNSET COBRA : Flew to the first turn in 6.40 before winning in a brisk 21.70.
