“Howard Hook wins 380m Free For All for McLaren”

Brilliant sprinter Howard Hook put in a blinder of a run to take out tonight’s Mandurah Stockfeeds FFA over 380m. The full brother to Barbecue Man began moderately and was fourth at the first turn before unleashing a paralysing burst to cover the leaders. Race favourite All Over Kahli set the pace from box one but was collared in the late stages to lose by a neck. Two lengths away third was All Over Khan who was in the firing line throughout from box eight. Howard Hook is owned and trained by Andrew McLaren and has now chalked up nine victories from 27 career starts. The return to the 405m distance at Mandurah in a month or two is going to be right up his alley.

Race 1 Number 7 WEST ON COBRA : Showed strength late when he charged home to snatch second over 275m.

Race 4 Number 4 SLOWLY DRIFTING : Caught the eye with a fast finishing fourth and looks ready to win.
