20230826 – Cannington Saturday – The Peter Thomas Final

“King Tommy dominates 715m Free For All”

Promising stayer King Tommy made light work of tonight’s Sign Strategy Call Phil FFA over 715m. The son of Tommy Shelby turns two years old this month and has handled the rise to staying racing very well. This evening from box four he zoomed to an early lead before setting up a ten length lead in the middle stages. Whilst runner up Clifton Cruz made up a few lengths King Tommy was never in doubt of winning and held on to score by a comfortable 5.50 length margin. He clocked 41.91 and has now won 3 of 4 over the long journey. Clifton Cruz finished second and another four lengths away third was Sher Zany. King Tommy is raced by Justin Warwick and Chris Halse and the victory gave the duo a double after they took out the opening maiden with King Tommy’s full sister Blue Passion. Later in the evening the Corey White trained Dandalup Blazer took out the Peter Thomas Final, winning by a nose over Beach Ridge.
