20230808 – Cannington Tuesday

“Uncle Tommy creates a big impression on debut”

Highly talented Tommy Shelby sired youngster Uncle Tommy was responsible for a very gritty win tonight. After qualifying over 380m early last month in 21.83 the 33kg red brindle dog was heavily backed into a $1.45 fixed odds favourite. He began speedily but not well enough to clear traffic and he was shuffled back to fourth in the early stages. However with some room in the back straight he zoomed into second spot to give pursuit to former NSW chaser Terramungamine. He reeled him in easily and dashed away to score by three lengths in 22.22. Terramungamine ran second for the fifth consecutive start and half a length away third was Trendy Dingo. Uncle Tommy turns two in December and looks set for a very bright career for his owners, the Kira Withers managed After Party Syndicate.
