“Officer Rod impresses for Ben MacLean”

Zippy former Victorian Officer Rod defeated a quality lineup tonight in the KCR Pet Transport Provincial Novice over 380m. The son of My Redeemer had been a runner up at his first two starts in WA and on both occasions was beaten by the highly promising Canya Accelerate. This evening he rocketed to an early lead and held out West On Roylyn to be a length in front for most of the journey. He recorded a fast 21.79 and ended up beating the favourite by two lengths. Luke’s Raven was another four lengths away in third position which was also her sixth successive minor placing over 380m. Officer Rod has now started 10 times for 3 wins and 5 minor placings and tonight’s winning time suggests he is destined for Free For All company.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 3 Number 5 DANNY HEFFERNAN : Missed the kick badly but ran on boldly after that and he only needs a clean getaway to return to the winner’s list.

Race 5 Number 6 FLAMBOYANT LAD : Ran a nice race against quality opponents from an awkward draw, looks ready to win from an inside alley.
