Race favourite El Salvador broke swiftly and set the pace at the first turn while Post The Zipper pushed through strongly near the rail to settle in a clear second position. Leaving the back straight Post The Zipper railed to the front before dashing away to score by three lengths. El Salvador dead-heated for second with the fast finishing Row Keeping but both were no match for the winner. Trained by Banjup mentor Nick Minutillo, Post The Zipper snapped a losing sequence of ten and took his career statistics to 26 starts for 5 wins, 6 seconds and 7 thirds.
