“David Hobby unveils some serious youngsters in the Tuesday Night Quallies”

Flake Monelli was a freakish talent on the racetrack and won an astonishing 30 races ranging from 490m to 715m. Tonight five of her progeny went around in Mandurah Qualifying Trials and it’s fair to say that they have created a big impression. The first qually was over 405m and Crumble Monelli defeated Custard Monelli by 2.50 lengths and clocked a sizzling 22.69. The third placed runner Prime Cooper finished a very long way away and by the time they straightened most probably couldn’t see the lure. Trial 2 saw the clash of Pudding Monelli and Jelly Monelli with the former leading throughout in a fast 22.88. Jelly Monelli was beaten just over a length and looked very strong on the line. Trial 3 was a solo trial for Pancake Monelli over 490m and after a fast getaway recorded a first split of 5.87 before running 27.80. The other three Monellis from the same litter have been named Churro Monelli, Tiramisu Monelli and Waffles Monelli who won tonight’s fourth event in 22.75.


Race 3 Number 2 ED HOCKEN : Ran on nicely to finish a close up third at his first race start.

Race 4 Number 2 OUT MAX : Chased home the highly promising Waffles Monelli and looked strong on the line for Brett Mazgaltsidis.
