20220811 – Cannington Thursday – W.A. Championships

TSAR BELL (Out Of Range- Ringading Sister) was sent out a short priced favourite in the final of the WA Distance Championship and didn’t let his supporters down scoring by 2 1/2 lengths over the early leader Soda Saville in 42.16. The Adam Smithson trained dog settled mid field early before unleashing his powerful finish. The blue brindle dog has now won at his past 5 starts and has recorded 5 wins from 8 starts over the 715 metres in the West.

THROTTLE (West On Augie- West On Hazel) will represent WA in the National Sprint final after defeating Panama Pepper by a neck in the WA Sprint Championship in a new race record time of 29.60, lowering the winning time of Premium Share who went on to win the National Sprint final. The Christine Robartson trained dog has won 10 times from 19 career starts and doesn’t turn two years of age until October. Panama Pepper led from box 4 and Throttle was quickly across to second before coming off the leaders heals on the home corner and scoring an exciting win. Christine Robartson has represented WA twice before in the Sprint with Track Shine in 1986 and Wits End in 1995.
