“Impact Mac surges into Peel Plate Final”

The Peel Plate Series is a Provincial Grade 5 event held over 405m. The feature event was first run in 2011 when Eric Campana prepared Good Odds Jacky to victory. Other winners include Need A Seatbelt (2012), Sissoko (2014), Cork Popper (2015) and Pinny Mack (2017). Seven heats were staged tonight with all winners and the fastest runner up advancing to next Tuesday’s Final. Kylie McLennan drew first blood with her talented sprinter Impact Mac taking out the first heat in comfortable fashion. He quickly assumed control from box five before cruising to a seven length victory in 22.69 over Fast Food Junkie. The son of Rippin’ Sam now has 7 wins and 18 minor placings from 43 starts and will take beating in the final. The other six heat winners were Remi Monelli (22.57), West On Soho (22.64), Rippin’ Tomahawk (22.61), All Spiked Up (22.84), Dandalup Jett (22.82) and Dancing Fun (22.72).
