20210807 Cannington Saturday – W.A. Sprint Championship Heats

GRANITE SONG (Aston Dee Bee- Juniper Twedo) pushed through to lead on the first corner and led throughout to give comeback trainer John Carmody an early win back. The Irishman retired a few years back because of illness however, decided to make a comeback with a litter of pups he and his wife Dianne bred. The black dog recorded a length win over West On Cobra in 30.48 at his second start.

ASTATINE (Collision- Spanish Queen) scored a last stride win over Shadow Ace scoring by a head in 22.64. The Terry Erenshaw trained dog has now won twice from just 5 career starts.

PANADERO OPAL (Collision- Go Go Treatment) recorded her third consecutive win when she pushed through to the lead entering the back straight before driving clear to win by 4 lengths over Keeping Tux in 30.09. The Adam Smithson youngster doesn’t turn two years of age until December.

WEST ON BRAE (Kinloch Brae- High Recall) was too classy for his rivals in the opening heat of the WA Sprint Championship, leading throughout and scoring by 3 1/4 lengths over Got The Sugar in 29.94. The Chris Halse trained dog has now won 12 times from 16 starts over the 520 metres at Cannington.

SERONG (Fernando Bale- Starlight Shine) drove to the lead and put a margin on his rivals as he raced away for a 4 length win over Jackson County in 29.94 in the second heat of the WA Sprint Championship. The Paul Stuart youngster has now won at his past 3 starts and has won 7 of 14 career starts.
