BUD MONELLI (Barcia Bale- Corona Monelli) flew late at the leader Granite Song to win by a head in a PB 30.12. The David Hobby trained dog has had some injury concerns since he made his debut in a race in November last year. He returned in June after time on the side lines to win at his 4th career start. HISTORIC TIME (Kinloch Brae- She’s Historic) ran home strongly to claim the early leader West On Grit near the line to win by 1 1/4 lengths in 30.03. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog had been knocking on the door with placings at his last two starts.
SERONG (Fernando Bale- Starlight Shine) showed too much class for his rivals crossing from box 8 and then racing to the front along the back straight. The Paul Stuart trained dog then raced clear of Mambo Monelli to win by 3 3/4 lengths in 29.95. The black dog has now won 6 of 13 starts.
WEST ON BRAE (Kinloch Brae- High Recall) showed speed to lead from box 5 and then was too classy for his rivals scoring by 2 3/4 lengths over Super Zoom Jake in 29.95. The Chris Halse trained dog has won 11 of 15 starts at Cannington and will go into the heats of the WA Sprint Championship as one of the leading chances.
