“Lou Lee sizzles over 405m for Andrew McLaren”

Noted fast beginner Lou Lee made every post a winner in tonight’s Restaurant Bookings Grade 5 over 405m. The daughter of Stagger had been racing in great form with wins at 3 of her last 5 starts at the Mandurah track. Ex-Victorian Butternut was heavily backed from box two and jumped an odds-on favourite at $1.55 with the WA TAB. Lou Lee out-mustered her more favoured opponent though and set up a three length lead in the middle stages. Butternut gave pursuit but failed to catch up to Lou Lee who recorded a brilliant 22.65. Resting Toucher for Eric Campana finished third ahead of the fast finishing Oysters. Lou Lee has now won 8 of 19 career starts for Nambeelup trainer Andrew McLaren who has enjoyed success in the past with the likes of Yunderup Dozer, Vocal Enforcer, Rudge, Ballistic Rose and Feels Like El.

Race 2 Number 4 WEBLEC WARRIOR : Cannonballed out to lead and then win in 22.73.

Race 4 Number 6 EINSTEINIUM : Showed terrific early pace before returning to the winner’s list in 22.62.
