Former Victorian Sheriff Max was heavily backed from box eight to win tonight’s Mandurah Stockfeeds sponsored Grade 6 over 405m.

The son of Black Magic Opal ran second at his previous run over 405m and clocked a smart 22.88.

The betting support saw him open up at $2.40 fixed odds before jumping at the skinny odds of $1.45.

He didn’t let his supporters down, zooming around his opponents to reach the lead before scoring by seven lengths in 22.87.
