“Wanda Pepper appreciates the switch to Mandurah”
Slow beginner Wanda Pepper relished tonight’s switch to the Mandurah circuit after struggling to be competitive over 520m at Cannington.
Tardy beginners will always have their work cut out at Cannington especially in Maidens and Wanda Pepper finished 5th, 6th and 8th at her three career starts there despite having qualified in a fast 30.04.
She was well backed tonight over 490m and the small field size helped too with her able to work to the front as the field entered the back straight.
The daughter of Barcia Bale sailed away to win by five lengths in a promising 27.62 over Pacemaker Pete and Cinnamon Monelli.
She is raced by the George Farrugia managed Kramerica Syndicate and trained out of Canning Vale by Jamie Marsh.
