20180718 Cannington Wednesday

WEST ON VIOLET (Barcia Bale- Zelemar Fever) was able to run to the lead going off the back straight and racing away for an impressive debut win in 30.21. The well bred black bitch won by 11 1/4 lengths over Rusty Wren and was the first leg of an early double for trainer Chris Halse. Halse also won the third heat of the Winter Maiden Classic with litter sister West On Lily winning by 6 1/4 lengths in 30.10. The black bitch was returning from injury sustained at her second career start in the middle of June.

PYROTECHNICS (Ollie Bale- Whispering Ling) recorded his Maiden win in the second heat of the Winter Maiden Classic for trainer Enzo Crudeli. The big black dog had been placed at 3 of 5 starts before scoring by a length over Hello I’m Bugsy in 30.44.

20180711 – Cannington Wednesday

KIPROTICH (Premier Fantasy- Peggie) was able to hold off the challengers and score his first win at Cannington in 15 attempts. The Peter Glenny trained dog clocked 30.28 in defeating Sunset Gucci by a half length. The win was just his second in 24 career starts and ended a losing sequence of 22.

JERKY BOY (High Earner- West On Raven) was far to good for his rivals as he led throughout from box 2 and scored by 3 1/2 lengths in 30.19. Trained Chris Halse declared the black dog as his best chance for the night on Tabradio’s Sports Daily breakfast show the previous morning.

ADMIRAL NELSON (Exeptional- Hidden Diamond) scored back to back wins after crossing from box 8 and leading throughout to win by 2 1/2 lengths in 21.95. The Tony Williams trained dog has won 6 of 29 career starts.

20180704 – Cannington Wednesday

OZZIE MADE (Shakey Jakey- Midnight News) recorded his first win in WA when he drove to the front down the back straight before going on to win by 12 lengths in 30.37. The former NSW trained chaser was transferred to John Iwanyk’s Nambeelup kennel in May and after finishing second on debut broke his maiden status in style.

SHINBONER SPIRIT (Sure As- Wandy Carla) recorded back to back wins with a 1 1/2 length victory over Tom Gundi in 22.08. The Graeme Hall trained dog has now won 4 times from 12 career starts and has been placed another 4 times.

TRIFIVE (Barcia Bale- Sharon Monelli) used box 1 to his liking by driving along the rails to lead and hold off all challengers. The Ben MacLean trained youngster defeated Eighty Eight by 5 1/2 lengths in 30.32 on a rain effected track.

20180627 – Cannington Wednesday

GOAT (Fabregas- Light Fantastic) blew the start, circled the field and then went on to win his Maiden on debut in 30.57. The Paul Stuart trained dog liked to track wide and with the rain earlier in the day probably wasn’t disadvantaged to have to travel wide on the track. The black dog defeated O’Neill Monelli by 3/4 length.

BEE DEE (Fernando Bale- Orthia Bale) overcame an early bump out of the boxes before driving through along the fence and finding the lead down the back straight. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog went on to score at his second career start by 3 lengths over Ozzie Made in 30.21.

SCARLET BLU BOY (Collision- Scarlet Runner) recorded his first win in WA for new trainer Steve Van De Klashorst, scoring by 6 1/4 lengths in 30.47. The former Victorian dog had won 6 times from 70 starts before coming West and had little luck on debut in the middle of June.

CHIPS AND TRAINS (Collide- Revealed) scored a PB 10 1/4 length win in 29.96 from box 7. The Chris Halse trained dog racing for the foundation raced clear from his outside draw and has now won 3 times from 5 career starts.

20180620 – Cannington Wednesday

WEST ON DAFFY (Barcia Bale- Zelemar Fever) led throughout on debut to score by 2 1/4 lengths over Hello I’m Bugsy in 30.31. The Chris Halse trained bitch turns two years of age in October and improved 10 lengths on her qualifying trial win a couple of weeks before.

RESTING TOUCHER (KC And All- Eastern Culture) showed speed from box 4 on debut and held off the late charge of Hello I’m Rongo to win by a head in 30.54. The Steve Withers trained dog will improve with race experience and fitness.

CHIPS AND TRAINS (Collide- Revealed) scored a brilliant come from behind victory for trainer Chris Halse to record his second career victory at his 4th start. The blue dog had to overcome bumps at the start and on the first corner before covering extra ground to score by 5 lengths in 30.32. Read about Pippa Rea and children’s brain cancer at
