20190420 – Cannington Saturday – Keith Harding Canning Trophy

JADE’S BLADE (Kinloch Brae- Bluey’s Fate) led from box 1 to give owner Ian McPherson and trainer Joe Dailly success in the inaugural running of the Keith Harding Canning Trophy final. The little black bitch has now won 8 times from 22 career starts and added this feature to the Puppy Classic she won earlier in the year. The WA bred youngster won by 1 1/2 lengths over Rockstar Romeo in 30.11. Keith Harding was inducted into the RWWA Hall Of Fame in 2017 just prior to his passing. His wife Brenda was on track to present the trophy to the excited winning connections.

SNALLYGASTER (Fernando Bale- Orthia Bale) scored an all the way win over the 600 metres for trainer Enzo Crudeli. The blue dog was challenged throughout, however was strong to the line scoring by 3 1/2 lengths from Willie Gundi in 35.17.

NOT AVAILABLE (Barcia Bale- Lochinvar Vogue) recorded back to back wins in WA after leading throughout from box 1 over the 600 metres. The Chris Halse trained dog recorded his first win in WA over the 520 metres the week before. The blac dog won by 2 3/4 lengths in a PB 34.85.

WEST ON HOLLY (Barcia Bale- Zelemar Fever) was able to cross from box 8 and score a 2 1/2 length win over Starlight Yoyo in 29.84. The Chris Halse trained bitch in undefeated in 4 starts from box 8 and took her stake earnings past $55,000 with the FFA victory.

20190413 – Cannington Saturday – Keith Harding Canning Trophy Heats

REIDY’S RUNNER (Dyna Double One- Buxton Miss) railed underneath of the leader Little Grove and kennel mate Willie Gundi in the home straight to win over the 600 metres. The Christine Bennett trained black dog has now won 15 times from 40 career starts while being placed on another 13 occasions. The black dog won by 2 lengths in 35.16.

NOT AVAILABLE (Barcia Bale- Lochinvar Vogue) recorded his first win at Cannington at his 10th start in the state. Now in the care of trainer Chris Halse the black dog ran down the leader Petria Monelli to win by a neck in 30.04.

ROCKSTAR ROMEO (Fernando Bale- Glory Of Love) led from box 7 and held off all the challengers as he recorded his first win at Cannington in 9 starts. The Shayne Williams trained dog had been racing without luck having finished second 4 times at the track. The win continued the winning run of owners Gemma Jovanovic and James Jeffries who recently also won the Gr 1 Sky Racing Galaxy final with Rockstar Patriot.

20180127 – Cannington Saturday

“Mandjoogoordap leads throughout in Canning Trophy”

Promising young sprinter Mandjoogoordap continued on her winning way tonight, leading throughout to win the Greyhounds WA Canning Trophy by seven lengths. The event was first staged in 2011 when Hello Hooray scored for the Frenchman Peter Hepple. Notable winners since include Off To Fenway (2013), High Recall (2014), Jabba Da Pup (2015) and Mendoza Monelli (2017). The Paul Stuart prepared daughter of Collision began well from box six and quickly mustered to the front before racing away to win in a swift 29.84. Grand campaigner Fire Blaze soldiered on strongly for second place for Banjup trainer John Carmody and held off the fast finishing Lorenzo Blue. Lorenzo Blue chalked up his fourth consecitive minor placing for Joe Dailly and looks due for a victory. Mandjoogoordap is owned by Sean ‘Strike-Rate’ Kavanagh, Cass Levitzke and Peter Cameron, she has now started 13 times for 10 victories.

Race 1 Number 8 BOLT KEEPING : Flooded home to finish second and with a better draw next start will be very hard to hold out.

Race 7 Number 5 WEST ON AUGIE : Produced a flying 5.35 first section before winning in a freakish 29.54.

20180120 – Cannington Saturday

EQUANIMITY (Barcia Bale- She’s Historic) led from box 1 and held off all challenges to win the FFA in 30.20 and in doing so took his stake earnings past $300,000 plus breeders and owners bonuses for being WA bred. The Enzo Crudeli star was challenged throughout firstly by Pepper Fire and then Trouper Monelli in the run to the line and held them all off to win by 3/4 length. The blue dog has now won 20 times from 48 career starts.

MANDJOOGOORDAP (Collision- Ritza Night) jumped brilliantly clocking a 5.45 first split as he led the field into the back straight in the opening heat of the Canning Trophy. The Paul Stuart trained black bitch then raced clear to win by 8 lengths in a new PB 29.69. She has now won 9 times from just 12 career starts and has finished second twice as well in her short career.

FRANCE SOIR (Magic Sprite- Magic Capers) returned to the winners list with a 5 length win in the second heat of the Canning Trophy. The Paul Stuart trained dog was dropping in grade after recently competing in FFA company. He won in a time of 30.07 in defeating Cadice.

FIRE BLAZE (Brett Lee- Starlight Delly) showed speed from his inside draw and went on to defeat Lorenzo Blue and Waterloo Monelli by 2 1/4 lengths in 30.01. The John Carmody trained dog had been racing consistently and recently led up the brilliant MANDJOOGOORDAP before being run down in the straight.

20160220 Mandurah Saturday

RUBLE MONELLI (High Eaner- Fantasy Monelli) caused an upset when she scored a length win over Oldmate Archie in 27.75. The black bitch had only won once before over the 490 metres from 18 attempts. The disappointments in the race were Quartz Bale and Eisenhower who were both well supported, however couldn’t figure in the finish.

FUN BOSS (Kinloch Brae- Alotta Fun) continued on his winning way by scoring in the FTA by 2 1/2 lengths over Yunderup Dozer in 27.30. The Lexia Isaac trained chaser has now won 4 of his past 5 starts and the win took his stake earnings past $145,000.

ALUMINUM (Barcia Bale- Black Velveteen) showed speed from box 5 and was able to lead throughout and win the Greyhounds WA Canning Trophy final. The blue dog has now won at his past 3 starts. Tonight’s win in 27.73 was by a neck over Gorham Bale in his toughest test to date.

Greyhounds to follow:
Race 1 No 5 Morris Memory. Had little luck from his middle draw, however is knocking on the door for another win.

Race 2 No 5 Oldmate Lara. Finished in a blanket finish and a win in this grade is near.

Race 6 No 7 Hodor. Promising staying type who has good race sense and in good kennel.
