20180305 – Cannington Monday

MOMENT TO JIVE (Mogambo- Sharon Monelli) is racing in career best form bringing up her third consecutive win by demolishing her rivals by 6 lengths in a PB 29.81. The Sarah Appleton trained bitch has now won at her past two starts over the 520 metres after failing to win at her first 11 attempts over the trip.

SUNSET LICORICE (Where’s Pedro- Push It) jumped well from the middle box and once finding the lead was able to work clear to win by 3 lengths in 22.20. The Glen Price trained bitch had been placed at her past two starts and was well supported even though she hadn’t won in 7 starts over the 380 metres.

20180303 – Cannington Saturday

POPPY MONELLI (Fabregas- Jackie Bale) led throughout to defeat her kennel mate Waterloo Monelli by 4 lengths for trainer David Hobby. The black bitch has now won 7 of 19 stats and recorded a PB 29.69 in scoring over the 520 metres.

TROUPER MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Bingle Monelli) had finished second at his past 3 starts before gaining clear running into the first corner and finding the top in the opening heat of the Lew Dorsa Memorial. The David Hobby trained dog defeated the race favourite Astrozone by 1 3/4 lengths in 29.85.

WEST ON AUGIE (Fernando Bale- Te Amo) was dominant in his all the way win in the second heat of the Lew Dorsa Memorial. The Chris Halse trained youngster went ping once the boxes opened and raced clear to win by 5 lengths over Black Bombshell in 29.53. The red fawn dog has now won 10 times from just 15 career starts.

BENNY MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Bingle Monelli) jumped to the front and held out the race favourite Max Profit in the run to the first corner before racing clear to win by 3 lengths in 29.79. The David Hobby trained dog hadn’t won since mid January, however after beginning better tonight was always going to be hard to pass.

20180228 – Cannington Wednesday

GARBRANDT (KC And All- Saving Bundles) recorded an impressive win in the final of the Maiden series defeating his rivals by 5 lengths in 30.20. The Jamie Marsh trained dog had little luck on debut finishing second behind Reidy’s Runner. Tonight, even though not the quickest from the boxes, was able to find the top entering the back straight and raced clear.

SIEBEN MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Sharon Bale) scored his 5th consecutive win in a driving finish with kennel mate Winifred Monelli scoring by a half head with a half head away in third place Bush Bindicoot. The David Hobby trained dog won once in his first 10 starts and since has put 5 wins together including tonight’s in 30.17.

BEDROCK GUNDI (Dyna Tron- Flying Gundi) continued the winning run for trainer Christine Bennett with a smart win over Whatta Dream in 22.15. The black dog recorded back to back wins after scoring in 22.01 their week before. Bennett also won earlier with Bow Gundi in 22.30.

20180226 – Cannington Monday

ZARAZZ (Kinloch Brae- Miller’s Fury) recorded back to back victories for new trainer Margaret Hepple after running down the leader Explosive Smith to win by 2 1/2 lengths in a PB 30.36. The black dog over came trouble first up for Hepple the previous week winning in 30.66.

TEE GUNDI (Oaks Road- Secret Image) recorded her first win in 9 starts over the 275 metres at Cannington with a 2 1/2 length victory over Karon’s Boy in a PB 16.00. The win gave trainer Christine Bennett a winning treble in the first 6 races after scoring with Nosey Billie in a Maiden and Rubble Gundi.

20180224 – Cannington Saturday

DANDALUP BRUTUS (Bekim Bale- Rerod Rose) caused an upset win in the final of the Sandi’s Me Mum leading throughout from box 6. Having been slowly away in his heat the previous week, trainer Corey White freshened the black dog up during the week and was rewarded. He shot away down the back straight from his rivals and then held off Trouper Monelli and Astrozone to win by 1 1/4 lengths in a PB 29.86. The win was the first feature race win for part owners and breeders Carol and Barry Moir.

FRIDA MONELLI (Fernando Bale- Bingle Monelli) broke the 380 metre track record as she recorded her 5th win from 6 starts over the trip. The David Hobby trained bitch had won her previous 3 starts in quick times around 21.56 and tonight crossed from box 8 and scored by 7 lengths over Neo Ha Ha in 21.47. The winners time lowered the record of 21.48 jointly held by Dandalup Brutus and Hello I’m Leo.

MISS AMERICA (Fabregas- Sober) had a stirring contest against Chezzy Allen for most of the back straight before going on to win the FFA by a half length in a PB 29.88. The Krystal Shinners trained bitch had won her past 2 starts over the 405 metres at Mandurah before returning to headquarters in grand style.
