20190518 – Cannington Saturday – W.A. Derby Heats

ROCKSTAR PATRIOT (Fernando Bale- Glory Of Love) recorded his first win since taking out the Gr 1 Sky Racing Galaxy in March. The Paul Stuart trained dog sat close to the leader Dyna Dean and worked to the lead going off the back straight. The black dog went on to win by 1 3/4 lengths over Reidy’s Runner in 42.09.

TANOAN CREEK (Kiowa Mon Manny- Brook Lee) caused an upset in the first leg of the Quaddie as he railed through to score by 2 1/4 lengths over Moto Doll in 30.26. The Colin Bainbridge trained dog had finished second behind Incredible Hero over the 600 metres at his prior run, however was sent out at the price of $40.90.

INCREDIBLE HERO (Barcia Bale- Oya Nine Wonwon) won the first heat of the Gr 2 Brittons Formal Wear WA Derby with a last stride nose win over It’s A Storm in 30.22. The win was an emotional one for trainer Fran Farrell and her husband Ben who has been battling Amyloidosis, an illness that requires regular chemotherapy treatment. The Harvey trainer will have her first Gr 2 finalist this week.

GOBLIN MONELLI (Magic Sprite- Jackie Bale) ran home well to defeat Magic Mamba who led early and the visiting NSW trained dog Rockstar Beav winning by 3/4 length in 30.04. The David Hobby trained dog had now raced since being unplaced in a heat of the Perth Cup in February and will strip fitter from the outing in next weeks Gr 2 final of the Brittons Formal Wear WA Derby.

20190515 – Cannington Wednesday

HERE COME’S JOSH (Fernando Bale- High Recall) recorded back to back wins after crossing from box 7 and scoring by 2 3/4 lengths in a PB 21.89. The Chris Halse trained dog was well supported again by his owners in the Second Of Many syndicate and started favourite. The black dog has now won 3 times from 9 career starts.

DANICA KEEPING (Barcia Bale- Becky Keeping) broke through for her maiden victory when she held off the challenges and won by a neck over Don’t Guess in 30.33. The Shayne Williams trained bitch clocked some slick early sectionals before getting a little weary over the concluding stages as just her 4th career start.

LA QUE (Razldazl Jayfkay- Jump The Queue) defeated her rivals by 1 1/2 lengths in a PB 21.91. The Margaret Hepple trained bitch has now won 4 times from 11 career starts after a late start to her racing career.

20190511 – Cannington Saturday

MIKEY’S RANT (Kinloch Brae- Starlight Shine) charged down the leader It’s A Storm going down the back straight and went on to record a PB 30.06 in winning by 2 1/4. The Paul Stuart trained dog had been checked the previous start when finishing 5th behind It’s A Storm in the final of the Mandurah Derby.

INCREDIBLE HERO (Barcia Bale- Oya Nine Wonwon) jumped to the front and was most impressive in leading throughout at his first try over the 600 metres. The Frances Farrell trained pup had finished third at his previous start in the final of the Mandurah Derby behind It’s A Storm. The black dog won by 9 lengths in a slick 34.66.

EIGHTY EIGHT (Fernando Bale- Starlight Delly) upset his kennel mate and odds on favourite Starlight Yoyo after leading from box 3. The blue dog had been unable to lead in his past 8 starts, however with the small field he shot to the front and scored by 2 3/4 lengths over Winsome Bossman in 29.89.

20190508 – Cannington Wednesday

LOLLY BUFFET (Cosmic Rumble- Free Candy) recorded his maiden victory when he came from off the speed to claim the leader Tough Grit in the home straight, winning by 3/4 length in 30.21. The Steve Withers trained dog had finished third twice in 4 career starts prior to his victory.

BOOMERING (Ollie Bale- Whispering Ling) railed well to catch the early leader Clarita Tweedo near the line scoring by a half length in 30.45. The Enzo Crudeli trained dog had recorded a smart win the week before at Mandurah when winning over the 490 metres in 27.88.

SUPER BLADE (Kinloch Brae- Bluey’s Fate) jumped to the front from box 4 and scored a 4 3/4 length win over the race favourite Naughty Gunn in a time of 30.25. The Joe Dailly trained bitch has now won 3 times from 17 career starts.

20190504 – Cannington Saturday

WISE RICCIARDO (Barcia Bale- Wise Penny) led throughout in the final of the Grade 4/5 series over the 600 metres, scoring by 5 1/2 lengths over Dyna Orenthal in 34.80. The Chris Halse trained dog had been placed on debut over the distance the week before behind Paganoni in 34.95.

DANDALUP CASPER (Cosmic Rumble- Misty Peal) worked hard from his outside draw and went to the lead going off the back straight. The white and blue dog then held off the fast finishing run of the Gr 1 Galaxy winner Rockstar Patriot to win by a head in 29.99. The Tania Thomas trained dog has now won twice in his past 4 starts.

WEST ON AUGIE (Fernando Bale- Te Amo) returned to the track after sustaining an injury in the final of the Gr 1 Sky Racing Perth Cup behind Orson Allen. The Chris Halse trained star led throughout from box 1 and scored by 1 1/2 lengths over Winsome Bossman in 30.03.

GARBRANDT (KC and All- Saving Bundles) started slowly from box 1 as an odds on favourite. With trouble on the first corner, the Jamie Marsh trained dog was able to work through to be outside the leader Zoom Tux on the home corner before scoring by 3/4 length in 20.43. The win was his 8th in 29 career starts.
