20170923 – Cannington Saturday

MOMENT TO JIVE (Mogambo- Sharon Monelli) bounced back from her unlucky last start 5th over the 600 metres behind Ramifications to lead throughout over the 715 metres. The black bitch held out her litter sister and kennel mate Moment To Rumbaby a half length with Ramifications 4 lengths further back in third place. The Sarah Appleton trained bitch has now won 4 times over the distance from 6 tries and has finished second on the other two occasions. Pictured: Moment To Jive

LORENZO BLUE (Barcia Bale- Queen Bluebird) led throughout to record his first win over the 600 metres at his 12th attempt. The Joe Dailly trained dog had been a model of consistency over the distance, placed 8 times prior to his victory in 35.21. His mother is a litter sister of the great Miata who dominated the middle distance at the old Cannington track.

SASSY GINGER (Kinloch Brae- Sassy Guess) was able to cross from box 8 and then run some quick sectionals on the arm before scoring by 1 1/2 lengths in 29.80 over Astrozone in the first heat of the WA Bred Championship. The red brindle dog continued the amazing week for trainer Enzo Crudeli who trained the first two across the line in the SA Derby on Thursday night at Angle Park with Black Bombshell defeating Bundles Galore.

WEST ON HAWKEYE (Barcia Bale- Zelemar Fever) raced into another feature final after his come from behind win in the second heat of the WA Bred Championship. The Chris Halse trained dog last week led throughout in the final of the Spring Gift. The black dog ran down kennel mate Pepper Fire to win by 1 3/4 lengths in 30.15.

20170920 – Cannington Wednesday

MOTO DOLL (Cosmic Rumble- Flying Sienna) took the length of the home straight to claim the leader Dandalup Dasher and record her Maiden win in 30.58. The Corey White trained bitch had been placed on debut and then had little luck behind litter brother Pinny Mack in the final of the Spring Maiden Classic at his next start. The black and white bitch jumped in second place before slowly making ground on the leader and going on to win by a half length.

PINNY MACK (Cosmic Rumble- Flying Sienna) showed speed from box 3 and worked clear going down the back straight before being challenged by Corporate Storm going off the back. The Corey White youngster then went on to record his second win from 3 starts by 2 1/4 lengths in 30.13.

SKYLAB (Kinloch Brae- Cosmic Sapphire) led throughout over the 380 metres in the FFA to hold out the favourite West On Liam by 3 1/4 lengths in 21.83. The Jamie Marsh trained dog had been racing well at Mandurah and recorded his 4th win from 12 tries over the distance at Cannington.

20170916 – Cannington Saturday

WEST ON HAWKEYE (Barcia Bale- Zelemar Fever) jumped to the lead for the first time in his career and then led throughout to win the Greyhounds WA Spring Gift Final in a PB 29.66. The Chris Halse trained chaser has always shown above average ability, however his tardiness at box rise has cost him from winning a feature before tonight. The black dog defeated Mendoza Monelli by 5 lengths and took his stake earnings to $100,000 plus WA Bred bonuses.

ASHOM MONELLI (Mogambo- Jackie Bale) led easily over the 715 metres and then controlled things from the front, winning by 4 lengths over Moment To Rumba in a PB 42.32. The David Hobby trained dog had been placed 3 times from his previous 5 starts over the distance including a third behind Ramifications in the WA Distance Championship in August.

NEVER IN KANSAS (Barcia Bale- Not In Kansas) loves box 8 and improved her form with an all the way victory over Rapid Intention in 30.20. The Enzo Crudeli trained bitch hadn’t won since April, however had won 3 times from 4 attempts from box 8.

RAMIFICATIONS (Barcia Bale- Disco Girl) charged across from his outside draw and even though he was slightly bumped, the big black dog was able to hold his footing and race away to record an 8 length victory in 34.87. The Chris Halse trained star stayer was hot off recording a track record the week before over the 715 metres.

20170913 – Cannington Wednesday

PINNY MACK (Cosmic Rumble- Flying Sienna) was well supported to win from box 1 in the final of the Greyhounds WA Spring Maiden Classic and the young pup didn’t let his supporters down. The Corey White trained youngster, who doesn’t turn two years of age until March next year, led from the outset and scored by 4 1/4 lengths over Little Grove in a PB 30.02. Pictured : Corey White

DRANSFIELD (El Grand SeƱor- Stanga Jill) recorded his Maiden win after beginning well from box 3. The Grant Campbell trained black dog had been placed at 3 starts over the 405 metres at Mandurah, however had been unlucky in his 3 starts over the 520 metres at Cannington. His winning time was 30.73.

PHEODORA (Barcia Bale- Poco) led from box 2 and held on for a half head win over Decimal in 30.29. The John Carmody trained bitch had been racing without luck and hadn’t won since October last year, however was strong at her first step up in distance since July.

20170909 – Cannington Saturday

“Skipper’s Ticket scorches over 600m”

Talented up and coming chaser Skipper’s Ticket accounted for a small but handy field tonight over 600m in the Box 1 Restaurant Grade 5. Starlight Asha (box 8) and Miss America (box 1) both sped out of their alleys and after fifty metres race favourite Skipper’s Ticket found himself in between them. As the trio entered the front straight Miss America accelerated clear which allowed Skipper’s Ticket to duck down to the fence. At half way Skipper’s Ticket wrestled the lead off Miss America and shot away, eventually winning by a comfortable six lengths. Miss America held down second ahead of Jazz Get On who ran on strongly. Skipper’s Ticket is owned by Linda Britton and trained by Chris Halse, he has now had 20 starts for 9 wins and 7 minor placings. Tonight he recorded a mighty 34.76 and twenty minutes later his kennel-mate Art Noveau led throughout in a slightly quicker 34.70. Halse ended the night with four winners after West On Maisie won a heat of the Spring Gift and Ramifications broke his own track record over 715m (41.83).

Race 2 Number 2 TOTALLY TOTES : Finished fifth but is eligible for easier races and he hit the line strongly over the longer trip.

Race 4 Number 3 HONCHO MONELLI : Missed the start again but rocketed home for third.
