The Australian Greyhound Racing Association conducts the National Sprint and Distance Championships annually.

The hosting of the 2009 Group 1 Schweppes National Sprint and Distance Championships Grand Final is at Greyhounds WA Cannington on Saturday 5 September 2009.

The Nationals feature finals over the distances in the vicinity of 500m and 700m. Heats and Finals are staged in each State with the Grand Final rotating from State to State each year. Both the National Sprint Championship and the National Distance Championship carry a first prize of $50,000 and both events are classified as Group 1 events.

The Australian Greyhound Racing Association 2008 Rapidvite National Sprint and Distance Championships Grand Finals were held at NSW GBOTA / NSW NCA Wentworth Park 520m and 720m respectively on Saturday 30 August 30 2008.

Congratulations to "Rampaging" Reg Kay for taking out the Sprint title with the Queensland champion Knocka Norris.

Congratulations to Victorian Graeme Jose for taking out the Distance title with Mantra Lad.
