“Towering Inferno snaps losing sequence of 14 for Wayne Rose”

Short-courser Towering Inferno notched his fourth career win tonight at his 58th start for Nambeelup trainer Wayne Rose and owner Stu Dowton. The son of Cosmic Chief began fairly and settled in second position behind runaway leader and race favourite Jerry Gundi. However after 100m Jerry Gundi looked to sustain a minor injury and came back to the field abruptly, allowing Towering Inferno to take the lead. He dashed clear in the front straight to score by five lengths in a new PB of 17.50. The Shane Beard trained Jax’s Giant ran on nicely for second ahead of the Lexia Isaac prepared Gypsy Said Run. Towering Inferno turns four in January and has now earned more than $6,500 in earnings.
