20181005 – Mandurah Friday

“Mandurah Cup Final next Friday night”

Four heats of the Mandurah Cup were run over 490m tonight with first and second from each event advancing to next Friday’s feature final. Unfortunately two of WA’s best sprinters were scratchings, the Enzo Crudeli trained Black Bombshell was withdrawn along with Chris Halse’s ‘powerhouse’ chaser Quick Jagger. Heat One was taken out by track specialist Max Profit. The speedster represented WA in The National Sprint Final last year and recently won the time honoured Dash Final over 302m. He led throughout in a sparkling 27.58 and defeated the Chris Halse trained Quids In by one length. The second heat was won by Mandurah specialist Desert Rampage who overcame box eight to lead throughout in 27.52. The Linda Smithson prepared Bundles Galore rocketed home to be beaten narrowly and will take a power of beating in the final. Heat Three belonged to the reigning Northam Cup winner All The Rave. He railed to victory for Tony Scott and defeated Sprightly Fella by three lengths. Leisel Monelli qualified fastest in Heat Four clocking a slashing 27.38 off box one and beat Chips And Trains by six lengths. Pictured : All The Rave

Race 2 Number 1 WINSOME APRIL : Caught the eye with a fast finishing second after drifting well back.

Race 3 Number 1 SURE ENOUGH : Displayed terrific mid race muster to run second over 405m after beginning poorly.
