“Tom Gundi overcomes box eight for Christine Bennett”

Promising young sprinter Tom Gundi put in a great performance tonight, winning the Essential Refrigeration Services Novice over 380m. The son of Barcia Bale turned two this month and after a string of four minor placings broke through for a deserved victory. He chased home Norse Viking last Friday but was well backed tonight despite drawing the pink alley. He began speedily and quickly took the lead in the back straight before charging away to win by six lengths. Kennel-mate Apache Gundi worked home stylishly to be the runner up and another length away third was the Eric Campana prepared Fluttershy. Both Tom Gundi and Apache Gundi are raced by Christine Bennett and Geoff Reid and look to have plenty more wins in store.
