“Take A Seat continues winning run at Northam”

Southern River based trainer James Jeffries continued his terrific strike rate at Northam today winning the Provincial Class Free For All over 509m with Take A Seat. The son of Barcia Bale won his first two starts over 509m in 29.91 and 29.92 before tackling a smart lineup today and scoring in 30.04. Race favourite Yuup was well supported off box one but missed the kick and then struck bother at the first turn. Lady Charlotte, the outsider of the field (15/1) is also trained by Jeffries and enjoyed a surprise lead entering the back straight. Take A Seat settled second though and didn’t take long to eat into the gap. Turning for home the pair matched strides before Take A Seat gained the upper hand and scored by just over a length. Three lengths away third was Yuup who nosed out Owl Perfect and finishing an unlucky fifth after being sandwiched at the first turn was Patchy Kat. Take A Seat has now won 10 of 43 career starts and 3 out of 3 at Northam.

HOUNDS TO FOLLOW :

Race 4 Number 4 PATCHY KAT : Improved at box rise before being sqeezed out at the first turn, one to watch because he’d been charging home at Mandurah.

Race 7 Number 4 BUSHMAN’S LUCK : Battled on gamely over 588m to run second to Junk Yard Wolf.
