“Skipper’s Ticket scorches over 600m”

Talented up and coming chaser Skipper’s Ticket accounted for a small but handy field tonight over 600m in the Box 1 Restaurant Grade 5. Starlight Asha (box 8) and Miss America (box 1) both sped out of their alleys and after fifty metres race favourite Skipper’s Ticket found himself in between them. As the trio entered the front straight Miss America accelerated clear which allowed Skipper’s Ticket to duck down to the fence. At half way Skipper’s Ticket wrestled the lead off Miss America and shot away, eventually winning by a comfortable six lengths. Miss America held down second ahead of Jazz Get On who ran on strongly. Skipper’s Ticket is owned by Linda Britton and trained by Chris Halse, he has now had 20 starts for 9 wins and 7 minor placings. Tonight he recorded a mighty 34.76 and twenty minutes later his kennel-mate Art Noveau led throughout in a slightly quicker 34.70. Halse ended the night with four winners after West On Maisie won a heat of the Spring Gift and Ramifications broke his own track record over 715m (41.83).
