20170713 – Mandurah Thursday

“Stockholm cashes in on class drop”

Wide tracking 405m Mandurah specialist Stockholm capitalised on box eight in tonight’s Quaddie Time Mixed 4/5. The son of Collision didn’t begin well but had plenty of room to zoom from his wide draw and quickly sailed around the field to settle in second position. Race favourite Abba Monelli (box 1) had been beaten for early pace by Incredible Bella (box 3) who had sizzled clear and was two lengths in front at half way. Turning for home Stockholm levelled up with Incredible Bella but then fanned very wide, allowing Incredible Bella to find a length advantage. The pair were wide apart in the front straight and hit the line locked together, with Stockholm getting the judge’s nod by a nose. Magic Marty finished two lengths away in third position. Stockholm now boasts the impeccable record of 50 career starts for 12 wins and 17 minor placings.
